This past Sunday was the first race of the East Blvd Winter Short Track Series. The conditions for the day were spectacular, especially compared to the weather we have been having here in Asheville, it was 58 degrees and sunny. The expert race was an hour long and very fast, the results show me finishing in 6th place (it gets hard to keep track) which isn't bad after a 4.5 hour ride on Saturday. My technical skills were a little off of the pace, but my power seemed good. Robert won the expert class and was definitely in a class of his own on the day, our class became pretty spread out and very open at times. The race seemed like it kept me going anaerobic for the entire 60 min, but it was such a good time that it was over before you knew it. Neal Boyd and everyone that helped to put this on did a spectacular job. You have to love a race where a guy can wear tights that look like blue jeans. I am looking forward to the remaining 4 races of the series. I recommend that everyone try one of these races at least once, you will get hooked. Weather
It just started snowing again. This winter is going to be brutal for getting in base miles, maybe I can change the carpet in my apartment to make the terrain look different. Anyone have any rugs that resemble the Rocky Mountains?
